A warm welcome

A room inside, a patio outside, and a kitchen that cooks with the season.

We are on Main Street in the Taylor Building, a few minutes on foot from the National Steinbeck Center, and breakfast starts when the doors open at eight. Closing time moves through the week, so call ahead and we will tell you what is on today.

Inside the restaurant during an event: guests standing along the bar with bottles and glassware set out, tall windows onto Main Street behind them and a red floral arrangement by the door.
  • A full bar

Beer on tap and in the bottle, a full wine list, and spirits with mixers alongside the cocktails. Mimosas and Bloody Marys arrive at brunch.

  • Live music

Music is part of the room, and Michelle B. came in for it and then took the staff’s word on the burger.

  • The patio

Tables under cream umbrellas and olive trees, off Main Street, and room out there for three hundred.

  • Vegan and gluten-free

Vegan plates are on the menu, and the gluten-free bread has a following of its own among people who rarely get the choice.

Every plate below was named by a guest on Google, in a review anyone can go and read, and we have kept their words the way they wrote them.

Catering & events

Take a corner of the patio, or take the whole place

A law firm held its thirtieth anniversary out here, and the manager went through the menu with them well before the day. A wedding, a luncheon or a birthday works the same way: you give us the headcount, and the kitchen cooks to it.

Buyouts run in three-hour blocks, and you can take the patio on its own, the room on its own, or the whole place. What it costs depends on the day and the space, so call and we will price your date against your numbers. We deliver catering as well.

An outdoor buffet line: trays of quartered sandwiches and green wraps beside chafing dishes, set out on a table by a flowering bed.
Guests seated along a laid table on the patio, blue gingham napkins on wooden boards, jars of yellow flowers down the middle.
A grazing table set outdoors: wooden boards of cured meats, cheeses, olives, sliced fruit and baguette, banked with kale and edible flowers.
