The Machine Behind Your District's Communication

For districts, charters and private schools

We build and run the websites, bilingual parent communication and enrollment pages a California district is judged on.

Selected work

Work we have made for education

Environmental graphics, signage, stationery, editorial and heraldry.

A timber-framed campus building interior with the institute monogram overlaid, looking through full-height glass onto a planted courtyard.
Environmental
An array of triangular table signs and flat cards in the identity palette of coral, marigold, grey and blue on a pale blue backdrop.
Signage
Overhead view of letterhead and colour-blocked sheets in coral, yellow and blue, fanned across a black surface.
Stationery
A printed invitation on cream stock resting at an angle on a round walnut table, with a yellow pencil alongside.
Editorial
Close-up of crimson ceremonial robes with gold bullion embroidery, overlaid with a circular debating society crest.

Why it matters

Why it matters

Five things a superintendent can take to a board meeting.

An empty elementary classroom at golden hour, rows of small wooden desks and chairs standing unused, low sunlight falling across the floor and a chalkboard on the far wall.

Enrollment is your budget

California funds districts on average daily attendance, not headcount. Every family who stays, and every day they show up, is revenue — which makes parent communication a funding function, not overhead.

A school front-office counter in warm morning light: a telephone, stacked wooden paper trays and an open logbook, with a staff member working at a desk to one side.

One trusted source

A district and twenty campus sites drift apart fast, and parents end up asking a Facebook group instead. Publish a calendar, a closure or a board agenda once, and have it correct everywhere.

A cork noticeboard on a school corridor wall layered with dozens of overlapping paper notices, a tiled arcade stretching away behind it and a figure walking toward the far door.

Every family in their language

Where 15% of a school’s pupils share a language other than English, every notice sent home has to be written in it too. We publish both versions as real pages, not through a translate widget.

A gently sloped concrete accessibility ramp curving alongside a flight of entrance steps, a steel handrail following the curve, leading to the doors of a stone-and-timber school building.

Accessible before the deadline

WCAG 2.1 Level AA is a dated federal obligation for public districts, not a preference. We build to it from the start, so accessibility is never a remediation project with a deadline attached.

A school staff workroom after hours at dusk: a wall of wooden mail cubbies, a copier along the far wall and a single lit desk lamp on a long worktable scattered with papers.

Staff hours back

District communications is usually a team of one to three. One authoring pass should produce both languages, the accessible version of every document, and the alert — not four separate jobs.

What we operate

What we run

Not a product with modules. Twelve pieces of work we run, scoped to what a district and its campuses have to publish, translate, prove and keep current.

Multi-site district platform

One system for the district and every campus.

Staff-editable pages

A site secretary updates a page in five minutes, without a ticket.

WCAG 2.1 AA build and audit

Accessibility as a build standard, plus an audit of what exists.

Automated bilingual publishing

One authoring pass produces English and Spanish as real pages.

Parent notification automation

Closures, packets and attendance outreach, sent in both languages.

Calendars and events

District, school, athletics and board calendars in one place.

Staff directory

Synced from your SIS, so a departure updates everywhere.

Enrollment landing pages

TK registration, boundary lookups and transfers as findable pages.

Local and AI search visibility

A profile per campus, and pages answer engines can quote.

Compliance document hub

SARC, LCAP and UCP with owners, review dates and accessible HTML.

Engagement analytics

Reach by language and campus, reported so a board can read it.

SIS, Google and Microsoft integrations

Aeries or Infinite Campus, Workspace and Entra sign-on.

The front door

What a family opens your site to find

Twelve things, and they should each take one go.

Closure and emergency alerts
Bell schedules and calendars
Enrollment and TK registration
Boundary and school lookup
Staff and department directory
Board agendas and minutes
Menus and transportation
Notices in both languages
SARC, LCAP and UCP
Title IX and complaint steps
Accessible documents
Athletics and activities

The body of work

More of the work

Campaigns, wayfinding, print, merchandise and identity systems.

A navy and pale-blue billboard for a Master of Data Science programme on a concrete wall.
Backlit programme posters in a concrete transit concourse beside an escalator.
A pewter enamel monogram pin on the placket of an indigo denim shirt.
A pale-blue programme notebook with a colour-blocked spine on a walnut desk.
Striped and colour-blocked cards with two circular badges against black.
An opened white envelope with three colour-blocked correspondence cards on grey.
A pale-blue notebook cover beside a white campaign panel headed Growth.
Stacked white, coral and yellow wayfinding cubes on a post, carrying floor directions.
The institute monogram and wordmark in light grey, centred on a near-black field.
A colour palette specification sheet with labelled swatch bands and print values.
A flat plate of the identity supporting shapes — fans, a starburst and stepped blocks.
Carved wooden chamber seats in warm light, overlaid with a circular debating society crest.

How it works

Audit, build, run

Three phases, and no long-term contract.

01

Audit

We read your site the way a parent and an auditor both would, and list what is missing, stale or unreachable.

02

Build

One platform for the district and every campus. Accessible from the first commit, bilingual wherever the statute applies.

03

Run

We keep it current — notices, calendars, statutory postings, and an alert when something goes stale.

District calendar

Two dates that already exist

The federal accessibility deadline for public districts.

  1. APR262027

    April 26, 2027

    WCAG 2.1 Level AA

Districts serving a population of 50,000 or more. The standard covers vendor-delivered pages too, not just your own.

Source for WCAG 2.1 Level AA: 28 CFR 35.200 (DOJ)
  2. APR262028

    April 26, 2028

    WCAG 2.1 Level AA

Districts serving under 50,000. Your tier comes from Census SAIPE population — a district cannot claim the later date by calling itself a special district.

Who we work with

Who we work with

The obligations and the economics change with each one.

Unified school districts

TK-12 under one board, twenty-plus campuses, one brand.

High school districts

Enrollment arrives from feeders and leaves on transfer permits.

County offices of education

Publishing for two dozen districts under one obligation.

Charter schools and networks

No attendance cushion — funded on current-year ADA alone.

Private and parochial schools

Tuition-funded, so yield and attrition beat raw traffic.

Community colleges

Service areas measured in thousands of square miles.
